Kids these days know Dave Bautista from his iconic role as Drax the Destroyer in Kevin Feige’s MCU and has been making waves in Hollywood with his acting range. Prior to establishing himself in Tinsel Town, he was a menace in WWE, where his incredible physique and raw power would make his in-ring opponents reconsider their decision to face him, leaving them bruised and battered.
Another man who has built a similar reputation in the WWE locker room is Brock Lesnar, who has a dominant in-ring presence and an incredible career to look back at. With countless moments to look back on and smile at, he has one moment in his career that would remain an eyesore for him.
Majorly because his WWE colleague resorted to unfair methods long before they became the heavyweights in professional entertainment wrestling.
Bautista’s first step to becoming a dirty player in entertainment wrestling
When we come to think of some of the most consistent power wrestlers of this generation, many names would pop up, but two names would be up there. It’s none other than Dave Bautista and Brock Lesnar. Both stars have efficiently worked on themselves to become the face of WWE, winning titles and making a lasting impression in the minds of the fans.
It is a shame that Vince McMahon’s WWE era never featured these two men in the same ring, concluding the debate of who is the ultimate power wrestler. However, long before both wrestlers were signed by WWE, they squared off in 2001.
During a match in Ohio Valley Wrestling via WWE, where for the most part The Beast Incarnate was dominating Batista, who wrestled under the ring name, Leviathan. For the most part, the match was enthralling, where Lesnar showcased his in-ring prowess and skills, hitting Batista with several clotheslines and belly-to-belly suplexes.
The match was nearing its end when Lesnar hit his finisher on Batista and went on to pin him. There was some distraction from a female wrestler long enough to get the referee’s attention when another female wrestler sprayed something into Brock Lesnar’s eyes.
The 2-time WWE Champion concluded the match by hitting the Beast with a spear and pinning him until the count of 3.
Wrestling fans voice their opinion on the ‘WrestleMania worthy’ match
The clip was shared by a wrestling page (@sclionwrestling) on Instagram, which summoned a sea of wrestling enthusiasts who had a great time watching the two future greats in their rookie era. Some praised how the two worked their way up, polishing their movements and skills, making their finishers look and feel more devastating.
However, some could not hold themselves back as they claimed that Bautista could take down Lesnar in his prime. The fans commented,

Nevertheless, the match was not the only thing that felt like a spot in Lesnar’s career, as he acknowledged how he is jealous of Roman Reigns.
