Lassen County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Public Input on OHV Grant Application

Lassen County residents have an opportunity to weigh in on a grant that helps fund law enforcement efforts in local off-highway vehicle (OHV) areas. The Lassen County Sheriff’s Office is seeking public feedback on its participation in the California State Parks Off-Highway Vehicle Grant Program for the 2025/2026 cycle.

The preliminary grant applications will be available for review from March 4 through May 5, 2025, at ohv.parks.ca.gov. Community members can submit questions or comments directly on the website. Additionally, inquiries for the Sheriff’s Office can be emailed to Sergeant Tim Heffley at THeffley@co.lassen.ca.us.

With miles of designated OHV trails and recreation areas, Lassen County is a popular destination for off-road enthusiasts from across the state and beyond. The Sheriff’s Office plans to use the grant to continue law enforcement patrols in these areas, ensuring safe and responsible recreation while protecting the land for future generations.
