“I’m still not convinced it’s the right thing to do”: Charlie Cox May Have Spoiled ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Major Death to Make a Statement

Charlie Cox is back to playing Matt Murdock in the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series after a long break. The actor had previously brought the character to life in the Netflix series Daredevil for three seasons.

However, this would be his first time donning the suit again since its cancellation in 2018. In the meantime, much like many things in Murdock’s life, the network has shifted from Netflix to Disney+.

In any case, not much is known about what exactly the show would focus on as of now. As such, the anticipation in the fandom has been off the charts about the blind vigilante’s new adventures. Playing into that enthusiasm, Charlie Cox recently teased a major event in the series that has concerned the fans.

Charlie Cox gave a major spoiler about Daredevil: Born Again

The news of Charlie Cox reprising his character in Daredevil: Born Again excited many fans who were disappointed by the earlier series’ cancellation. However, a lot of them were also anxious about whether they would be seeing their other favorite characters from the series ever again.

As such, the news of Deborah Ann Woll’s return as Karen Page, and especially Elden Henson coming back as Foggy Nelson added layers to their excitement.

Now, at a time like this, one would assume that an interview with the main lead of such a massively anticipated series’ would take the audiences’ excitement up a notch.

The reality, however, seems to be quite contrary. Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio (Kingpin in the series) recently appeared for an interview with Extra TV, where Cox gave a concerning spoiler about Daredevil: Born Again.

According to the actor, the show begins in a “brutal” way, with “a very traumatic event, which is going to change Matt Murdock’s life”. In fact, the ferocity of the event might be such that the character will “never be the same again”.

I’m still not convinced it’s the right thing to do, but we have to come back big and bold, you know, we’ve got to make a statement after all these years away, and what it does do is it’s a wonderful catalyst for the rest of the story.

Now this has obviously sparked anxiety in the fandom. While many speculate what this could mean, others seem convinced of their conclusions. At any rate, it seems like the 4th of March couldn’t come soon enough for fans to finally know the fate of the show once and for all.

Fans convinced that the traumatic event Charlie Cox teased is nothing but Foggy’s death

As stated above, Charlie Cox’s bold statement has spread intrigue in the fandom. While some wonder if Murdock will suffer some sort of traumatic event early on in the show, others have grown concerned about whether this could impact the other beloved characters from the show.

Inevitably, they took to X to express their opinions on the matter. While a fan joked that this obviously meant that Matt Murdock would die and Foggy would take up his place, others seemed convinced that it was time for them to bid Foggy goodbye.

One fan also speculated that it could be Karen Page who meets an unfortunate demise. Someone else also wondered why they would give such a spoiler in any way when they could just shock the fandom dead on in the series without any warning.

Regardless of their worry, fans seem hyped up for Daredevil to grace their screens again in the upcoming show. Adding to their excitement, Charlie Cox also noted in the interview that the show will feature some intense action sequences that fans can look forward to.

Moreover, he claimed that he was grateful to collaborate with fight coordinator Phil Silvera again to utilize “his genius” in the series. Especially as it helped them produce “some iconic moments” that would definitely please the fans.

Daredevil: Born Again premieres on March 4th on the Disney+ app.
