Fans of One Piece are dying to know who the next Straw Hat Pirate is. They are on par with Luffy when it comes to wanting every ally or a random character to join the crew. The biggest candidates, at the moment, are Jewelry Bonney and the honorary Straw Hat, Vivi.
Bonney’s increasing importance in One Piece’s storyline suggests her arc isn’t over, unlike the other allies we’ve seen. Vivi, too, has returned in the story, though she hasn’t reunited with her old friends. However, neither of them is most likely to join Luffy’s crew.

The Straw Hat Pirates are a curious bunch. All of them have very distinct appearances, powers, and personalities. Jinbe was the latest addition to the crew in Wano.
No other characters after that have expressed explicit interest in joining the Straw Hats. However, this one mysterious figure reminds fans of how Luffy met his first crewmate and right-hand man, Zoro. Is Oda hinting that this is the next Straw Hat?
Loki is the perfect addition to the eccentric Straw Hat Pirates
So many characters in One Piece would have been perfect additions to the Straw Hats. From Yamato to Bon Clay, Luffy has made many allies along the way. In the Elbaph Arc, however, we might encounter the most powerful character yet. Loki is hinted at having a legendary Devil Fruit.

Loki is the Accursed Prince of Elbaph, with a special bounty of 2.6 billion berries, nearly matching Luffy’s. Without even being a pirate, the giant has a target on his head. His terrible reputation and the fact that he’s tied up in Seastone chains suggests he’s not to be trifled with.
Despite everyone warning Luffy not to engage with Loki, he does it anyway. He’s currently trying to break him out and find out just how powerful he is. Does this not sound familiar?
Fans have realized that Loki’s predicament is similar to Zoro’s in the Romance Dawn Arc. He was also the very first Straw Hat to join Luffy’s crew. Is Eiichiro Oda suggesting that Loki is the final crewmate and the Straw Hats have come full circle?

If he does join, it would also fulfill Franky’s dream of building a ship that can sail around the world. Loki could give him a bit of the Adam Tree and the shipwright can modify the Thousand Sunny.

A figure similar to Loki’s appearance is also included in the Ancient Mural in chapter 1138.

While we still have no idea what Loki’s powers are, being a giant itself gives him a huge advantage. All the foreshadowing of his legendary Devil Fruit has to pay off. He could then be another powerhouse in the Straw Hats, fighting alongside the Monster Trio and Jinbe.
Is Loki still likely to be a villain or a Straw Hat?
Zoro had a fearsome reputation as a pirate hunter before he met Luffy. The entire town was afraid of him, although he saved a little girl’s life. Loki, too, has this reputation but all from hearsay rather than getting his side.

We know in One Piece rumors are never the real picture. Loki’s true personality is unraveling away from what other giants are saying. He seems to have some honor and rebellion in him, perfect for a Straw Hat.
His eccentric personality also makes for an interesting dynamic with the rest of the crewmates. As for his position, Loki could be the weaponsmith of the Straw Hat Pirates who excels at crafting stronger weaponry. In the end, only Eiichiro Oda can decide who is next.
