The tensions between Prince Harry and the rest of the Royals have been public knowledge for a long time. Even so, nobody was prepared for the revelations the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made during an interview with Oprah Winfrey the following year.
However, possibly the biggest blow came after Prince Harry released his memoir, Spare, in 2023. While the book contained many explosive accusations against the British Royals, one particular incident still stood out.
That was, of course, Prince Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle allegedly being banned from meeting the late Queen Elizabeth II by King Charles III. The Duke of Sussex’s response to his father for that alleged ban has only intrigued people more.

There had been suspicions about the deepening rift among the British Royals among the masses for a long time. However, those suspicions were only confirmed after Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle departed from their Royal duties in 2020 and moved to the United States.
Ever since the couple has made headlines many times with various allegations against the Monarchy. The estranged Prince’s memoir, Spare, too, came with surprising claims regarding the conflict in the Royal family.
For example, the Duke of Sussex claimed that back in 2022, when Queen Elizabeth II was on her deathbed, both he and Markle wanted to visit his grandmother to spend some time with her for the last time.
In fact, such a statement was released from their spokesperson noting that both of them would travel to Balmoral. Shortly after that, though, the statement was amended noting Prince Harry to be the only one who would visit the late Queen.
According to the memoir, the reason behind that was King Charles III banning the former actress from visiting the dying Queen by stating, “nonsensical and disrespectful” reasons. Harry, for his part, allegedly didn’t stay quiet about his wife being disrespected in that manner and made his displeasure known to his father.

Although the King later apologized for coming across as rude, he was adamant in his demand. As per a Daily Mail report, a source claimed that the interaction between the King and Prince ultimately resulted in a truce when,
It was pointed out to him that Kate was not going and that the numbers really should be limited to the very closest family.
As such, the King reportedly noted to the Prince that it would be inappropriate “for Meghan to be in Balmoral at such a deeply sad time”.
At any rate, by the time Prince Harry reached Balmoral, the Queen had already passed away. Regardless, he spent some alone time with his late grandmother before spending the rest with his father and brother in mourning.
Queen Camilla reportedly banned Meghan Markle from King Charles III’s future funeral
Although the late Queen’s heir succeeded the throne in 2022, the 76-year-old has reportedly been fighting a losing battle ever since. In 2024 it was revealed to the public that King Charles III is battling Cancer, without the details of the disease being made public.
Although it was stated before that the King was responding to the treatment well, a recent report by Mix Vale, though, suggests otherwise.
According to the outlet, the Monarch’s health has deteriorated rapidly in the past few months, sparking the family to consider all possibilities for the future of the throne. The outlet reported that Prince William had been at work trying to gain as much insight as possible into the duties that come with the succession.
On the other hand, Queen Camilla has allegedly banned the younger Prince’s wife from attending the King’s future funeral in advance. According to insider claims, while Harry’s presence couldn’t be helped due to his relationship with the King, Meghan Markle was banned from the ceremony to maintain peace and avoid controversies.
Moreover, sources clarified that the decision was made after consulting with King Charles III who deemed it inappropriate for the Duchess of Sussex to attend the future ceremony.
While this has sparked some discourse among the masses, after Prince Harry revealed his father doing something similar before, it didn’t exactly shock people.
