Chrissy Teigen is getting real in the new year with a brand new podcast from Audible, Self-Conscious with Chrissy Teigen, launching Feb. 27. It will be her first time behind the mic in such an intimate setting and she’s getting with herself about her marriage to John Legend with best-selling author Mel Robbins.
In an exclusive clip shared with SheKnows, Teigen told Robbins who loved her the most and who she felt the “safest” with in her life. Of course, her answer was “John,” but that’s when the author hit her with a hard question.
“Do you think John has negative thoughts about you?” asked The Let Them Theory author. Teigen responded with a nervous laugh, “No.”
Robbins delivered a dose of reality to the 40-year-old model, “Baloney!” After almost 12 years of marriage, of course, she bugs her husband from time to time.

Teigen admitted she had “negative thoughts” about her talented husband that often included “fights about scheduling or being home enough or being together enough without kids sometimes.”
Robbins dug into her own marriage to Christopher Robbins and his tendency to “fart” in the morning and how her daughters can “drive her crazy.” Yep, a morning toot is definitely on the negative list.
The Cravings by Chrissy founder defended Legend, describing him as “even keeled,” but Robbins pressed on until Teigen revealed that she “wanted some passion sometimes, I want him to get mad at me.” See? Even Legend can be annoying at times!
Robbins wanted Teigen to understand that “even though you love the person, negative thoughts pop into your mind, and it doesn’t make you love him less.” She does “drive John flipping crazy” even if “he’s not telling [her] this.” Robbins wanted Teigen to understand where her “power is” in a situation like this.
“Whenever you feel yourself getting worked up, whether it is a press storm or something else, let them,” Robbins advised. “When you spend all of your time and energy exhausting yourself to make everyone else happy, you lose yourself.”
Ah, the power in putting yourself first is often an uncomfortable place for women, but it might be the key to unlocking a freeing place emotionally — and honestly, it’s great advice!
Audible announced Teigen’s new podcast in November 2024 to great fanfare in a press release, hoping that “Audible listeners find meaning and connection with their favorite well-being authors – it’s like having a coach in your ear!”

That’s exactly what Self-Conscious with Chrissy Teigen is delivering — Teigen wants to “peel back the layers of challenges hindering my own well-being” and she hopes fans will join her for the journey.
Teigen married Legend in 2013 after seven years of dating. They share four children, Luna, 8, Miles, 6, and 1-year-olds Esti and Wren. The couple also lost a son, Jack, in 2020 after Teigen suffered a miscarriage at 20 weeks.
