Former National Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Michael Omari Wadie, has acknowledged the significant contributions of former President Nana Akufo-Addo to Ghana’s development while admitting that economic challenges and voter apathy contributed to the party’s struggles in the last election.
Speaking in an interview with Lily Mohammed on GHOne TV, Omari Wadie praised Akufo-Addo’s leadership, stating: “Akufo-Addo did a lot for Ghana, nobody can compare, compete, or deny that.”
However, he also pointed out that no matter how well a leader performs, difficulties are inevitable.
“As human beings, no matter how hard you fight for people, you will definitely encounter some challenges,” he noted.
Omari Wadie further explained that political fatigue often sets in after a government has been in power for a while, making it difficult to maintain public support.
“After staying in power for some time, Ghanaians will want you out no matter how good you are,” he added.
