Since moving to London, not much has progressed for the trio and their landlord is now selling up.

Faced with being kicked out, can they keep their friendships alive once dispersed across the city?

The show is written, created by and starring actor and comedian Leo Reich.

Furthermore, It Gets Worse is slated to comprise six 30 minute episodes altogether.

Leo said: “I’m over the moon to be working with the amazing teams at A24 and Channel 4 on It Gets Worse.

“This is a show for everyone who is, has been or will be a delusional and irritating 24 year old — I see you, I love you, I am you.

“I’m going to try my absolute hardest to do our community justice. I’m so excited!”

Meanwhile, Charlie Perkins, Channel 4‘s Head of Comedy, added: “We’re thrilled to be the home of Leo’s first show with A24.

Leo has this ability to distil the swirling complications and idiosyncrasies of his generation into succinct, spiky and incredibly funny writing and magnetic performances.

“The ‘voice of a generation’ label many have given him is valid, and as Channel 4 has always been the best place for the brightest new comedy voices, it feels like Leo’s spiritual home.”

Viewers may recall how past Channel 4 comedy-drama Fresh Meat depicted a group of eclectic housemates.

All University students, they wound up in a shared house due to late applications.

The cast included Jack Whitehall, Joe Thomas, Charlotte Ritchie and Zawe Ashton.

Elsewhere, Flatmates, a BBC coming-of-age comedy-drama, followed a similar premise.

The programme portrayed a group of teenagers making their first steps into the adult world.

Flatmates was a spin-off of hit CBBC show Millie Inbetweeen although intended for an older audience.

Cast members Richard Wisker, Theo Stevenson and Talulah Grieve reprised their roles from the original series.

It aired for two series, concluding its run in August 2021.
