Adam Copeland, formerly known as Edge, made his mark in the world of professional wrestling with his tenure in WWE. Over the years, Edge delivered some of the most spectacular performances and won multiple championships and accolades.
In doing so, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame 2012. Edge returned to WWE in 2020 for his second tenure after recovering from neck issues that led to the end of his career. During that, he was embroiled in a heated rivalry with Seth “Freakin” Rollins.

The duo had multiple stellar showdowns amidst the feud. After winning one bout against each other, the duo collided in the rubber match that happened at the WWE Crown Jewel 2021 Premium Live Event. However, Edge made a request to former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon that would change the trajectory of the company and even the host country, Saudi Arabia while making history involving female WWE referee Jessika Carr.
What did Edge request Vince McMahon for his match at WWE Crown Jewel?

In an interview with Table Talk, Jessika Carr revealed that Edge requested Vince McMahon to make her the official for his Hell in a Cell match against Seth Rollins at WWE Crown Jewel 2021 PLE. This was a historic feat for WWE as Carr became the first female referee to officiate a match in Saudi Arabia.
Jessika Carr revealed further details leading to the historic feat coming true. She got the opportunity to referee their first bout back at SummerSlam when Charles Robinson was absent from the show, so Edge suggested Vince give Jessika a chance.
At SummerSlam, Charles wasn’t planned to be there so it was a discussion between him and Edge of, ‘Hey, do you want to give Jessika a chance? I think Jessika will be a good option’.
In their rematch at Madison Square Garden, she again got the same opportunity despite Robinson being present at the show. This led Edge once again to put his request forward to Vince McMahon for Carr to referee his match for the third time in Saudi Arabia, to which he responded positively.
The second chapter of that was Madison Square Garden, and that was very shocking because Charles was there and I don’t know whose decision that was or what the story was with that, but to then be at Madison Square Garden and have Edge vs Seth was a tip of the hat. I stepped up to the plate at Madison Square Garden and it was literally standing in Gorilla with Edge and Edge asking Vince, ‘Can we have her in Saudi Arabia’. Vince was like, ‘Yeah, I think we can make that happen’.
Edge emerged victorious in the third bout with Seth Rollins inside Hell in a Cell. With that, history was created in regard to females in Saudi Arabia and led to more opportunities and matches for them in every event that has taken place in the country.
Is Edge still active in the WWE as an in-ring performer?

Edge had a spectacular second run in WWE for three years after returning at the 2020 Royal Rumble event. He wrestled his final match against Sheamus and left the company, claiming that he had accomplished everything there was in WWE and wanted to explore a new direction.
This meant that Edge missed out on a part of the new WWE regime, including the dawning of the Netflix era, which saw a remarkable debut show featuring multiple celebrities and stars. He made his debut for AEW in 2023 at their WrestleDream event under his real name, Adam Copeland. Since then, he has been a top fixture for AEW.
Moreover, he is next set to challenge current AEW World Champion Jon Moxley at their upcoming pay-per-view, AEW Revolution. With Edge approaching the end of his illustrious career, what the future holds for him remains to be seen.
