Star-Studded Screening of Superboys of Malegaon in Mumbai

The much-awaited Superboys of Malegaon had its special screening in Mumbai last night, and the event was graced by several Bollywood stars and industry bigwigs. Among the guests in attendance were Mihir Ahuja, Fardeen Khan, Vedang Raina, Khushi Kapoor, Arhaan Khan, Alizeh Agnihotri, Javed Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani, Agastya Nanda, Dimple Kapadia, Shibani Dandekar, and many more, all of whom added their star power to the occasion.

 

Directed by Reema Kagti, Superboys of Malegaon is based on the inspiring life of Nasir Shaikh and the other amateur filmmakers from the small town of Malegaon, India. The film, which draws inspiration from the 2008 documentary Supermen of Malegaon, explores the journey of these filmmakers as they create their own superhero films, often with limited resources and immense passion.

 

The film premiered in the Gala section at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival on September 13, 2024, where it received an enthusiastic reception. With its highly anticipated release in theatres scheduled for February 28, 2025, Superboys of Malegaon is expected to captivate audiences with its unique story and the portrayal of a vibrant, yet lesser-known, film-making culture.

 

The film stars Adarsh Gourav, Vineet Kumar Singh, Shashank Arora, Anuj Singh Duhan, and Riddhi Kumar in key roles, and has already garnered attention for its bold storytelling and the passionate performances of the cast. As the film gears up for its theatrical release, the special screening in Mumbai was a perfect way to celebrate its journey so far, with stars and filmmakers alike showing their support for this exceptional project.
