Meghan Markle is constantly making headlines for her various ventures. The Duchess of Sussex has faced accusations of bullying a royal staff member and she recently faced some backlash for trying to recreate a classic Princess Diana look. However, nothing beats the backlash she faced when she mocked the late Queen on the Netflix docuseries.
Markle and husband Prince Harry participated in Netflix’s Harry & Meghan, which documented the couple’s separation from royal duties and their relationship and marriage. During one of the talking head interviews, Markle’s imitation of a ‘curtsy’ to greet the Queen was not taken well by viewers.
Meghan Markle’s mock curtsy to the Queen seemed to make even Prince Harry uncomfortable
Meghan Markle was best known for her role as Rachel in Suits before she became the Duchess of Sussex. The actress and royal family member married Prince Harry and the two promptly stepped down from their positions in the royal family and moved to the USA, starting Archewell Inc., a media as well as a non-profit organization.
Markle and Prince Harry’s relationship and endeavors were captured in the Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, which went viral for all the right and wrong reasons. The show chronicled not just the initial courtship of the couple but also their split from the Royal family. Markle openly criticized many of the norms of the royals, which went viral.
In one of the talking head interviews in the show, Meghan Markle mentioned that Prince Harry asked her to curtsy to the Queen when she was going to meet the Royal Family for the first time. Describing the event, Markle showed an exaggerated curtsy while comparing the whole experience to being back in medieval times.
Prince Harry also looked way too uncomfortable as Markle did the curtsy and fans berated him for not standing up against his wife for disrespecting his grandmother.
Meghan Markle is rumored to have been dropped by the WME agency
Ever since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped down from their duties as the Duchess and Duke of Sussex respectively, they have been running the Archewell Inc. organization. The mixed-profit/non-profit business organization has a strong media arm that produced a slate of documentaries for Netflix.
Markle and Archewell were represented by the agency WME but there are rumors that the former actress has been dropped by the agency. While the agency has dispelled these rumors, Page Six reported that an insider claimed that WME chief Ari Emmanuel was ‘done with her’. The sources reportedly claimed that Markle was dropped because she was difficult to work with.
The Duchess’ next docuseries for Netflix With Love, Meghan, a lifestyle series hosted by Meghan Markle herself is set to stream in March. However, Page Six also reported that Markle had been outraged at the agency a year ago, demanding decks and plans to be made for what Archewell or Markle could do next.
