A 29-year-old Nigerian, Joseph Chukumeka, was stripped naked and beaten by residents after being caught stealing designer clothes—still on their hangers—and toilet rolls from rooms in Kasoa, located in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.
According to Adom News, residents had been dealing with a string of mysterious thefts but had been unable to identify the culprit until Monday, when Joseph was caught in the act.
Neighbours, alerted by unusual noises coming from one of the rooms, rushed to the scene and found Joseph inside, even though there were no signs of forced entry.
It was later discovered that he had been using a master key to access the rooms without raising suspicion.
As angry residents descended on him, stripping and beating him, Joseph pleaded for forgiveness, claiming the devil had influenced his actions.
He was eventually handed over to the police for further investigation.
