Jones Road’s Miracle Balm Minis Are Perfect for Moms Like Me Who Want Fuss-Free Makeup – & They Just Dropped in a New ‘Hero’ Set

I absolutely love makeup and skincare products, but I don’t love wearing a lot of makeup — or at least, looking like I’m wearing a lot of makeup. You will not see me experimenting with cobalt eyeliner, and as much as I’d love to rock a red lip like Taylor Swift, it just doesn’t seem to work for me. Instead, I tend to gravitate toward neutral palettes and my makeup bin is loaded with different versions of the same soft, neutral pinky-brown tinted lip balms. So Jones Road, the Bobbi Brown-founded clean beauty brand that’s based on a no-fuss philosophy of less is more, is right up my alley.

When I was invited to try Jones Road’s newest launch, The Hero Kit, I was excited to finally test out the brand and see if it lived up to the hype. If you’re new to Jones Road Beauty, like I was, The Hero Kit is a great place to start. Described as “a minimalist’s dream,” the kit includes five award-winning products: Eye Cream, The Best Pencil (eyeliner) in Brown, The Mascara, and two Jones Road Miracle Balms in an adorable, travel-friendly mini-size. The kit retails for $86 and is available in two different shade options: Pinky (the one I tried) and Peachy.

Jones Road Review: The Hero Kit

Jones Road The Hero Kit

Jones Road’s ‘The Hero Kit’ includes five staple products, including the award-winning Miracle Balm.

To test Jones Road’s The Hero Kit, I prepped my skin as usual, starting with a dual-purpose moisturizer/ primer and then my usual skin tint and concealer. (Yep, that’s me putting my bravest almost-bare face on camera!)

You can see how quickly and easily these fuss-free products gave me a fresher look and a pop of color. I tend to highlight my eyes over my lips, and I hate the way lipstick feels, so this kit is a win for me in that it focuses on products for the eyes… along with two multi-purpose balms. And speaking of…

Jones Road Miracle Balm

Consider me a Jones Road Miracle Balm convert! These cute little pots of color are perfect for busy moms like me who want a beauty product that can do double (or triple) duty. Seriously, this is a product you could put on the car with no mirror and still trust that you’ll look good when you get where you’re going. I swiped Magic Hour, a sheer, shimmery bronze, onto my eyelids for a light wash of color. (Note: The Jones Road website advises that Miracle Balm is not intended for use on the eyes or eyelids — something I realized too late. Whoops!) I used Flushed, a cool pink, on my cheeks and lips.

When picking up a pot of Miracle Balm, your first instinct might be to lightly swirl your finger around the product, but that’s a no-no. This is a balm designed to indulge your inner naughty child — because you’re supposed to dig your finger right in and break the pristine surface. If you’ve ever felt the urge to crush a lipstick just for fun (no? just me?!) then this is for you. The upside: instead of ruining your product, it’s actually what brings out the pigment.

For me, the proof is that even after my initial test of The Hero Kit, these are products I’ve continued to reach for and incorporate into the rest of my beauty routine. So if your (makeup) life could use a hero right now, consider giving this kit a try.
