Country music stars to perform huge Glasgow show

A GRAMMY-nominated country music band has announced a massive Glasgow gig.

The Texan trio Midland are set to take the stage at the city’s O2 Academy later this year as part of their European and UK tour.

Their trip across the pond marks their first UK headline show since 2022[/caption]

Their latest album Barely Blue features eight new tracks delving into themes of “loneliness, masculinity and resilience in the face of heartache.”

Best known for their smash hit Drinkin’ Problem, the band have racked up a staggering 3 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

Recently, they joined forces with rising Nashville star MacKenzie Carpenter for flirty duet I Wish You Would which is available to stream now.

This trip across the pond marks their first UK headline tour since 2022, making it a long-awaited return for Scots fans.

The Glasgow date will cap off a string of headline performances, including stops at C2C: Country to Country in Berlin and Rotterdam this March.

Before hitting Scotland’s largest city, Midland will also take the stage in London, Manchester and Belfast, before wrapping things up in sunny Glasgow.

Tickets go on sale this Thursday at 10am.

Elsewhere, heavy metal legends Disturbed and Megadeth have announced a massive Scottish show for later this year.

The iconic bands will rock the OVO Hydro on October 28 – with tickets on sale later this week.

And a US band behind one of the noughties’ most iconic hits have announced a show in Scotland.

The four-time Grammy nominees will be making a short stop here on their latest tour as they celebrate the release of their newest EP.
